What do we do as members of Banchory Lions Club
In our community we have helped:

young people with their projects to improve the local environment, facilities and provide disabled access to parks | |
|
with transport for hospital appointments....visiting and helping at old peoples homes | |
|
with riding for the disabled and the talking newspaper | |
| with gardening…. working in charity shops….picking up litter…. serving on local community organisations, and much more .... |
Our FUNdraising events include:
| Monthly bookstalls outside the Burnett Arms Hotel in Banchory, Car Boots, Magic Shows and many other events. | |
| help local young people to travel or work or study in other countries | |
| provide an annual outing for the Over 70s | |
| provide TACADE packs to Primary Schools in our area (TACADE is The Advisory Council for Alcohol and Drug Education) | |
| purchase Medic Alert bracelets, equipment for local surgeries and health centres | |
| help local groups, scouts, guides, football clubs, athletic clubs, playgroups, creches | |
| help a young skier and help a young athlete | |
| buy special equipment for disabled people | |
| provide Christmas hampers and toys |
We recycle.....books (which we sell at our monthly book stall) ....old and foreign coins/currency (for specific projects) ..... spectacles (for other countries) .... stamps (for a resource centre)
