The world's oldest surviving railway bridge, Causey Arch, can be visited (where it is preserved in a parkland setting) on the Tanfield Steam Railway - a must for steam train enthusiasts.

Rural Art such as the items pictured here can be found in almost every hamlet and of course the Coast to Coast (C2C) cycle path linking the North Sea to the Irish Sea has several sculptures along its route through Stanley

Stanley Lions Club is active and proactive in the community with our motto

'Working in the Community'

We have a busy fundraising and social programme with activities ranging from an Easter Egg Auction in Spring, a Hospital Bed Push in the Summer and a Supermarket Trolley Dash during the week before Christmas.

Membership of Stanley Lions Club is not restricted to residents of Stanley and we welcome enquiries from service minded people who want to enjoy themselves while helping our community

For further information, please e-mail
Club secretary, John Bedlington

Alternatively, drop in on any meeting night for a chat on
