Gift for Living
The Expression 'Life Hangs on a Thread' applies literally to the children in Bosnia today.
To rectify this the Lions in MD105 and Child Advocacy International, have joined hands to rebuild the infrastructure for innocent and suffering children of former Yugoslavia.
Hospitals in East and West Mostar are being renovated and giving the state of the art equipment and renovation. The newly built hospital in the east has and is receiving state of the art equipment.
Medical Staff are being trained both here and locally depending on their needs in an attempt to bring child friendly nursing technique to the existing formal clinical system.
Since 1999, Gift for Living has moved into its second phase with major activities in Sarajevo. Over $300,000 worth of equipment has been installed. This included ambulances and dentist chair. Training of doctors and nurses helps to bring benefits of up-to the minute Western medical techniques into communities where normal infrastructure of life has been on hold for many years.
Lions in NE are committed to helping this worthy cause and encouraged to do more in support of it.
