Trying to inform 54 million people about glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy is not easy but that is exactly what LEHP is attempting to do. It is succeeding. As a community based awareness raising project. LEHP is Lions Cubs International sight saving initiative. The programme a partnership between the Lions Clubs of British Isles and Ireland, The International Glaucoma Association and Diabetes UK. Lions partnership was launched with clubs in Britain and Ireland six years ago. There are now practically 500 clubs now actively instituting the campaign through members.

At club level pamphlets, posters video and live presentations are used to inform people about the two eye conditions and the need for regular eye checks. To date more than two hundred glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy pamphlets have been distributed and countless posters have been displayed. Two videos one Glaucoma and one diabetic retinopathy have been shown on the Digital Community TV Channel, and the two "Keep your eye on the ball" posters have been distributed to member clubs by the Lawn Tennis Association and The English Golf Union.

Stand by for the re-vitalisation of the Lions Eye Health Programme.
